Job Description:

Position: Income tax return preparer

Salary: $22.00 to $25.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Surrey, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Morning

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years and taxation
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Accounting
Computer and technology knowledge: Sage Accounting Software, accounting software, Quick Books, Simply Accounting, MS Excel, MS Word, and CANTAX

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, pay attention to detail, and work independently

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to multitask, be accurate, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The candidates should be organized, reliable, quick learners, flexible, and team players

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare bank reconciliations, collect payments from debtors, and prepare income tax
  • The candidates should be able to prepare financial statements and reports, reconcile accounts, and prepare trial balance of books
  • The candidates should be able to post journal entries, calculate fixed assets and depreciation, and maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • The candidates should be able to calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports, and prepare tax returns
  • The candidates should be able to keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
