Work setting: Employer’s home, Own home, Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment, Staff accommodation available, Work in employer’s/client’s home, Room and board provided, Relocation costs not covered by employer
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Bondable, Child welfare check, Criminal record check, Medical exam
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks and have attention to detail
- The candidates should be capable of handling weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate client focus, have excellent oral and written communication, and exhibit flexibility
- The candidates should show initiative, demonstrate good judgment, and be organized
- The candidates should display reliability, have good time management skills, and have patience
- The candidates should demonstrate honesty
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to change diapers, follow parents’ lead with toilet training, and sterilize bottles and prepare formulas
- The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens
- The candidates should be able to bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, and instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
- The candidates should be able to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, and organize activities such as games and outings for children
- The candidates should be able to prepare and serve nutritious meals, prepare infants and children for rest periods, and supervise and care for children
- The candidates should be able to tend to the emotional well-being of children and cook
