Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have a Diploma in Commerce or Business
Experience: Candidates should have Progressive experience (2-3 years) in supply chain management, procurement, contract management and administration in the public or private sector
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to understand, interpret, and implement policies, contract regulations, and procedures
- The candidates should possess technical knowledge of procurement policies and procedures, types of contracts, negotiating and interviewing techniques, and sources of supply
- The candidates should have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work with people in an effective, tactful manner
- The candidates should have a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- The candidates should exhibit the ability to analyze and evaluate contracting issues and legalities
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide professional, efficient, and effective procurement and contracting services for all GNWT departments supported by the Procurement Shared Services function
- The candidates should be able to perform their duties in accordance with the Agreement on Internal Trade, GNWT legislation, procurement policies, guidelines, procedures, land claim agreements, Memorandum of Understandings, industry best practices, and laws of contracting
