Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have demonstrated experience and expertise in conducting prosecutions in the Ontario Court of Justice (Criminal); Youth Court; Bail Court, including Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) Court and the Superior Court of Justice

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as per schedule
  • The candidates should possess the ability to assist with training staff in park operations
  • The candidates should have knowledge of budgeting, work planning, and mathematical/cash handling practices

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a valid class ‘G’ driver’s license or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario
  • The candidates should possess knowledge/ability in administrative processes, protocols, and procedures
  • The candidates should have knowledge of computers and software such as word processing programs, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail, and the internet
  • The candidates should be able to interpret and apply payroll policies and procedures to prepare and process documents for new and returning staff, prepare timesheets to ensure entitlement, and calculate seniority
  • The candidates should have proven interpersonal skills, tact, discretion, and judgment to deal effectively with the public, ministry officials, and staff
  • The candidates should have proven customer service and communication skills
  • The candidates should have the ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy
  • The candidates should have group leadership skills to provide direction to clerical and gate staff by assigning work, training, and monitoring performance
  • The candidates should have skills to organize work, set priorities, and complete work in a timely and efficient manner

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform a variety of administrative, financial, and clerical tasks to support the Park Superintendent and a multi-disciplinary parks team
  • The candidates should be able to prepare correspondence, assist in the preparation of revenue forecasts and work plans, and monitor the budget and expenditures
  • The candidates should be able to provide day-to-day group leadership to park attendants
  • The candidates should be able to create correspondence, schedules, reports, and use various computerized systems to ensure the continual operation of the park
  • The candidates should be able to provide customer service to internal and external clients
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the administration, registration, and revenue processing functions in a fast-paced environment
