Job Description:

Position: Special Constable – Communications

Salary: $91,000 after five years
Location:  Saskatchewan, Canada

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Grade 12 or GED
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to screen emergency and non-emergency calls for service
  • The candidates should be able to assign priorities and coordinate response activities for multiple patrol units
  • The candidates should be willing to work 12-hour shifts for two days, two nights, followed by four days off
  • The candidates should not have any medical restrictions that would hinder their ability to perform duties
  • The candidates should have a minimum acceptable acuity of 20/60 in each eye or 20/40 in one eye and 20/100 in the other. Please note that you will be contacted by a recruiter to have a vision and hearing test during the recruitment process
  • The candidates with colour deficiency may be excluded from the competition
  • The candidates should have a typing speed of 50 words per minute (typing certificate required)
  • The candidates should have an exemplary employment record
  • The candidates should have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as well as computer skills
  • The candidates should have the ability to pass a written entrance exam and a critical test (simulated 9-1-1 calls)
  • The candidates should have the ability to pass a criminal occurrence security check and participate in an extensive recruitment process
