Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook
Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Credentials: AZ class license
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and comfortable with sitting for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and be team players
- The candidates should exhibit flexibility in their approach to tasks and be well-organized
- The candidates should exercise sound judgment and demonstrate reliability
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, load and unload goods onto trucks, and operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, and perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- The candidates should be able to oversee all aspects of the vehicle and perform preventive maintenance on it
