Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
Experience: Candidates should have experience in drug dispensing, clinical consultation, formulary medical research, or health science consultation
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be legally entitled to work in Canada and be eligible to be licensed to practice pharmacy in Manitoba
- The candidates should provide and maintain a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- The candidates should have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and ability to work as part of a team
- The candidates should have the ability to manage multiple or competing priorities within a tight timeframe
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to evaluate and recommend policy options in support of provincial drug programs
- The candidates should have experience in facilitating ongoing consultations with medical or pharmacy experts, industry professionals, government agencies, and other stakeholders
- The candidates should have experience in providing quality pharmacy care in accordance with current jurisdictional trends, legislation, standards of practice, and guidelines
- The candidates should have experience in establishing and fostering partnerships and collaborations with internal and external clients, agencies, or stakeholders
- The candidates should have experience in writing research findings, reports, notes, memos, policies, and other correspondence
- The candidates should have verbal communication skills to effectively articulate ideas to a variety of audiences
- The candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The candidates should be familiar with the workings and processes of the Department of Health and familiar with the Manitoba Provincial Drug Programs
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to undertake ongoing reviews of various provincial drug formularies based on clinical and cost-effectiveness, and alignment with other pan-Canadian jurisdictions
- The candidates should be able to provide clinical evaluation and professional judgment in the adjudication of complex exception drug status (EDS) requests from medical practitioners
- The candidates should be able to consult with medical experts, research medical literature, analyze clinical practices and innovations in other jurisdictions, and write reports
- The candidates should be able to make recommendations on the feasibility of proposed drug prescribing policies and guidelines as decision-support tools
- The candidates should be able to lead or participate in various committees composed of internal and external stakeholders that address drug plan policy issues
