Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktitut, English and French Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a diploma in Water Resources Engineering Technology, Water or Wastewater Technologist, Water Quality and Environmental Engineering Technology
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of experience in the relevant field
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution and possess a Class 5 driver’s license and fluency in one or more of Nunavut’s official languages Inuktitut, English and French
- The candidates should have skills as a Professional Environmental Operator and Level II certification in water treatment or distribution and wastewater collection or treatment from a recognized provincial or territorial accreditation body
- The candidates should have knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are considered assets
- The candidates should have acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position
- The candidates should undergo a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and clear Vulnerable Sector Check, as the position involves periodic interaction with vulnerable persons in GN offices, buildings, medical facilities, and schools
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to directly report to the Regional Facility Manager (RFM) and manage all operations related to the Water or Wastewater system in the community of Rankin Inlet, including maintenance, billing or revenue collection, updates, and improvements
- The candidates should be able to oversee all Minor and Capital projects associated with the Rankin Inlet Water or Wastewater Systems and six other Kivalliq Region Water Treatment Plants
- The candidates should be able to manage projects through all stages, including planning, budgeting, implementation, completion, and warranty follow-up
