Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor’s in social work and counseling
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be willing to work flexible hours to meet the needs of clients and handle crises effectively
- The candidates should have access to a motor vehicle and hold a valid Ontario driver’s license
- The candidates should be committed to working cooperatively with clients and members of the interdisciplinary team
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or another university degree relevant to the practice of counseling and psychotherapy from a recognized institution
- The candidates should be a member in good standing of a Professional College (OCSWSSW or CRPO) or in the process of registration
- The candidates should have experience and practice in counseling and psychotherapy and an in-depth understanding of mental health issues
- The candidates should have in-depth knowledge of psychosocial assessment and counseling techniques
- The candidates should be knowledgeable about the mental health community resources available
- The candidates should be open to the customs and habits of other cultures and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- The candidates should be knowledgeable and capable of using basic computer software and excellent knowledge of both oral and written French and English
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to provide individual and group assessment and intervention services to adult clients
- The candidate should be able to develop an intervention plan with the client according and participate in case discussions and service planning with internal and external partners
- The candidate should be able to participate in the design and implementation of new programs to meet clients’ needs in the community, including needs assessments, promotion, and client recruitment
- The candidate should be able to develop and facilitate awareness, prevention, and intervention groups and workshops for adults and seniors, as well as recruit participants
- The candidate should be able to organize activities aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues among adults and seniors
- The candidate should be able to participate in internal and community initiatives and committees aimed at improving the quality of life for clients with mental health issues
- The candidate should be able to participate in the development and application of intervention models that ensure quality services, using recognized clinical approaches
- The candidate should be able to liaise with community agencies to improve access to appropriate services in a timely manner
- The candidate should be able to promote the overall development of mental health for the Francophone community and collaborate with the Volunteer Program Coordinator
- The candidate should be able to prepare reports, maintain records, and track program statistics and participate in team meetings, staff meetings, and other relevant meetings and participate in the clinical supervision program (individual and group and perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
