Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of directly related experience managing and supporting enterprise network infrastructure

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of conveying technical information effectively to non-technical audiences and be willing to travel to attend offices and sites across Canada
  • The candidates should be able to work in a hybrid environment, with a requirement to be onsite at the Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time (2 days per week)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent and  preferably a University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems
  • The candidates should demonstrate experience with LAN, WAN, Wireless, Firewalls, Load-balancers, DNS, and a solid understanding of Cloud and SDN technologies
  • The candidates should have experience deploying and supporting network infrastructure platforms and technology, including, Cisco AnyConnect VP, Cisco switches and routers, Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco UCS, Cisco Meraki, Cisco ACI, Cisco ISE, Cisco ASA, Cisco Thousand Eyes,F5 and PRTG systems
  • The candidates should exhibit strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish collaborative work relationships with customers and colleagues and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to leverage their expertise in incident resolution to troubleshoot incident tickets raised by internal customers pertaining to Canadian Blood Services network services until resolution, ensuring timely restoration of services to end users
  • The candidates should be able to utilize their skills in vendor management to manage engagement and escalations with third-party service providers for network and voice systems products and services, ensuring the correct urgency level is assigned to tickets requiring third-party support for timely resolution
  • The candidates should be able to apply their abilities in project coordination to collaborate with Canadian Blood Services project teams requiring network service deliverables, identify requirements, coordinate deployment activities, open necessary change ticket records in the ITSM system, and ensure tasks are delivered on schedule
  • The candidates should be able to draw on their knowledge of service management to manage network service requests (SRs) initiated by internal customers, fulfill tasks requested, and adhere to internally set service level agreements regarding completion timelines
  • The candidates should be able to harness their attention to detail in auditing to complete periodic audits of software license usage, forecast future software license usage requirements, and support vendor contract renewal activities
  • The candidates should be able to build on their adaptability and problem-solving skills to perform other related duties
