Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should hold a BSc in Geology
Experience: Candidates should have 1-2 years of open pit mining experience, preferably managing RC drill programs
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be willing to perform other duties, be available for 14×14 or 7×7 rotational work
- The candidates should be comfortable working in office, field, and open pit environments, be willing and able to stay in a remote camp
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have proven technical expertise and be good team players, gold exploration experience specifically in Archean greenstone settings
- The candidates should have industry standard GIS and 3D modelling experience in one or more of the following: logging software GeoSpark), ArcGIS, QGIS, Leapfrog, Minesight, and MS Office Suite
- The candidates should be a registered P.Geo. or a Registered GIT, a good sense of organization and attention to detail
- The candidates should have leadership skills, be motivated, and enjoy working in remote areas, possess a valid Driver’s License
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to supervise Reverse Circulation (RC) drills, including logging rock chips and sampling, insert blanks and standards into the sample stream
- The candidates should be able to ensure contractors are compliant with Health and Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures
- The candidates should be able to inspect drills, drill sites, and laydown sites, manage day-to-day activities to ensure drilling areas are cleaned, available, and prepared for drilling
- The candidates should be able to comply with internal policies and procedures pertaining to the position
- The candidates should be able to plan, track, and manage costs associated with drilling and support contractors
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with Mine Operations and support contractors
- The candidates should be able to ensure all downhole surveys are performed at appropriate intervals and recorded daily
- The candidates should be able to generate reports and maintain accurate records of drilling activities, including progress, costs, equipment maintenance, and safety incidents
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with multi-functional teams to resolve technical issues, optimize drilling plans, and drive operational excellence, supervise RC Geological Technicians
- The candidates should be able to undertake additional tasks as required to support open-pit grade control operations at the Magino Mine
