Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates be either registered or eligible to be registered as a Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association
Experience:Â Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to stand and move for extended periods, as nursing often involves continuous patient care and monitoring
- The candidate should have the physical dexterity and coordination to perform various medical procedures and administer treatments
- The candidate should be able to lift and position patients, as well as move and handle medical equipment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have recently applied knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
- The candidates should undergo TB screening
- The candidates should obtain a Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance
- The candidates should hold a valid CPR Level C certification
- The candidates are required to have WHMIS 2015 certification, to be completed within one month of hire
- The candidates should have current registration in good standing with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to oversee and manage daily operations within the Whitehorse Corrections Centre, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and relevant regulations
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the overall efficiency, safety, and effectiveness of correctional facilities in Yukon
- The candidates should be able to coordinate and collaborate with various departments, staff, and external stakeholders to foster a positive and collaborative working environment
