Requirements:

Education:Â Candidates should have Post secondary degree/diploma in Arts Administration, Recreation Administration, Fine/Performing Arts, Education or a related discipline
Experience: Candidates should have one year in program delivery and a minimum of (6) months staff supervision
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a proven ability for exceptional customer service and possess strong knowledge of best practices and current trends in Performing Arts, such as dance, music, theatre, craft, cooking/baking, and writing, among other art mediums
- The candidates should demonstrate advanced interpersonal skills, being able to relate and interact with multiple stakeholders, and work effectively in a dynamic team environment and have a proven ability to communicate and operate well in a collaborative, high-energy, and dynamic work environment
- The candidates should be detail-oriented, extremely organized, self-starters, creative thinkers, and confident professionals and Supervisory experience, and ability to lead, coach, and mentor staff, as well as solve problems and resolve issues arising in programs and from patron feedback

- The candidates should have previous experience with Intelli Program Registration and Taleo and knowledge and experience with a variety of social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
- The candidates should have a current Intermediate First Aid and CPR, and Level C and have know Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector check, satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
- The candidates should have a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) is required. The candidates must arrange their own transportation to be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy. This may require business auto insurance

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to be responsible for the successful planning and implementation of registered arts programs, which include 100+ classes per semester (400 on average per year) in Dance, Music, Theatre, Craft Cooking/Baking, and Writing, and other activities offered at City Arts Centre and 13 or more outreach locations within the City of Edmonton
- The candidates should be able to liaise with other City of Edmonton partners for the allocation of space to ensure the positive delivery of programs, oversee all program logistics, including staffing, scheduling, art equipment maintenance, supplies, and support to instructional staff
- The candidates should be able to supervise 30+ Program Specialists, Art Instructors, ensuring the smooth running of all programs and handling all administration of classes in the Move/Learn/Play website alongside student interactions outside the classroom
- The candidates should be able to provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and mentoring of Program Specialists, Art Instructors, and administrative staff in collaboration with the Program Manager
- The candidates should be able to provide leadership in developing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating new and established programs within registration, revenue, and expenditure guidelines
- The candidates should be able to prioritize tasks, demonstrate a strong sense of time management, and maintain a high level of attention to detail when planning, developing, and implementing four program seasons while adhering to working timelines and deadlines
- The candidates should be able to create a variety of registered programs, such as 8 to 10-week programs and shorter workshops and recruit, onboard, supervise, retain, and evaluate staff and volunteers as required for the effective delivery of programming
- The candidates should be able to prepare, monitor, and update seasonal promotions and event schedules, create program publicity and promotional material using print ads and social media content and collaborate and develop relationships with organizations, agencies, partners, individuals, and internal stakeholders for the effective coordination of Adult programs
- The candidates should be able to assist with all other City Arts Centre Programs, such as drop-in programs, group programs, events, spring break, and summer camps and coordinate supplies, equipment, and registration information for City Arts Centre and all Outreach facilities to ensure the successful delivery of programs
- The candidates should be able to develop program resources, such as curriculum, supply lists, participant handouts, and procedural manuals for instructional staff and support volunteers and contribute to strategic planning and implementation through articulating and researching artistic programming and branch objectives
- The candidates should be able to arrange personal and required staff training (Onboarding, Peoplesoft, Learning Management System) and maintain facility orientations and all safety and certification documents
- The candidates should be able to perform classroom observations, evaluations, and lesson plan reviews and monitor the program budget and complete all procurement payment procedures, including payment requisitions and corporate procurement card reconciliation
- The candidates should be able to direct day-to-day tasks and communications for adult programs, checking registrations, waitlists, and collaborating with administration for registered program callouts
- The candidates should be able to complete all necessary follow-up on customer concerns and comments with regard to programs and forward them to the supervisor when appropriate and provide regular status reports and metrics on all program-related activities, including customer satisfaction and feedback, attendance, and fill rates
- The candidates should be able to foster, promote, and administer diversity, inclusion, and engagement culture and perform related duties in keeping with the purpose and accountability of the job and ensure a high standard of customer service is provided at all program locations
