Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have educational qualifications such as High school graduation or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in a customer service environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be physically capable of performing the duties of the position, which include walking/standing for long periods of time, and lifting weights up to 40 lbs
- The candidates should demonstrate willingness and ability to wear and care for a uniform and safety equipment as determined necessary by the Division
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate an interest in public compliance, education, and awareness programs
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to be a positive, energetic, and constructive member of a team, as well as the ability to work independently
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing and Ability to communicate effectively in languages other than English
- The candidates should have knowledge of vegetation types, landscape experience, or an agricultural background. They should also possess a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License and have the availability of a personal vehicle for work
- The candidates should have the ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and qualify for Special Constable status while employed in this position and a Police Record Check and a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to respond to complaints of littering/garbage, vegetation, and other types of complaints to determine compliance with the Neighbourhood Liveability By-Law
- The candidates should be able to document observations and evidence, and issue notices when required
- The candidates should be able to clarify and discuss notices with property owners when required
- The candidates should be able to follow up to verify compliance of orders issued and re-inspect when required
- The candidates should be able to attend relevant training/orientation sessions, as designated by the Department
