Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and Nunavut Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor of Education degree
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of teaching experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have an undergraduate degree in a field appropriate to program offerings, plus a Master of Education degree or a Master’s or Doctoral degree in a field appropriate to the NTEP offerings
  • The candidates should have three (3) years teaching grades within Kindergarten to Grade Twelve, and training and experience in online instruction
  • The candidates should have instructional experience in adult education and experience in teacher education
  • The candidates should have the ability to speak more than one of Nunavut’s official languages
  • The candidates should have education and experience in the following concentrations (preferred): Arts and Music Education, Assessment in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Administration, Educational Psychology, Educational Research, English, Environmental Education, Indigenous Education, Indigenous History, Inuit Art, Language and Literacy Education, Language Arts, Math Education, Mathematics, Online and Distance Teaching and Learning, Physical Education, Psychology, Science Education, Social Justice Education, Social Studies, Sociology, Special Education, STEM Education, and Theory and Practice in Elementary Education

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and deliver instruction to meet learner needs and the standards established by the partner University
  • The candidates should be able to prepare course syllabi and deliver lessons using a variety of instructional strategies, including face-to-face, blended, and online
  • The candidates should be able to recommend curriculum revisions and research, review, and recommend resource materials to implement or enhance the program or courses
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a record of all course outlines and materials used in course orprogram delivery
  • The candidates should be able to develop and administer materials for learner evaluation and assess learners’ performance of skills and travel to other communities for course delivery
