Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations or journalism
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the communications or public relations field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to work on-site and virtually as required, travel on short notice, and work outside of regular working hours and a satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to lead work independently, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and meet tight deadlines while adapting to changing needs
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge and understanding of corporate communications and the provincial health-care system
- The candidates should have experience working in communications with internal and external stakeholders
- The candidates should possess considerable project management experience and solid analytical skills as a strategic thinker and superior writing and interpersonal communication skills are fundamental to the position
- The candidates should have the ability to establish positive and productive working relationships with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders, act with integrity, and exemplify NL Health Services’ corporate values
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide strategic communications advice in support of the organization’s vision and have experience advising senior leaders, managing communications issues, and leading projects and large-scale public and corporate events
- The candidates should be able to initiate, develop, research, execute, manage, and evaluate communications plans and strategies for a range of projects, issues, events, and other initiatives
- The candidates should be able to be an expert writer with the ability to grasp complex medical and technical information and communicate it in an easy-to-understand manner
- The candidates should be able to write compelling materials for print and electronic media, as well as have the technical aptitude to post content to social media platforms, the Intranet, and corporate website
- The candidates should be able to balance competing priorities and timelines in a fast-paced environment and participate in several committees
- The candidates should be able to work collaboratively with partners on joint communications initiatives and seek opportunities to proactively promote the organization’s positive stories
- The candidates should be able to report to the Senior Director – Provincial Public Affairs and work closely with other members of the communications department within a small team environment
- The candidates should be able to lead work independently, multi-task, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing needs
