Job Description:

Work setting: Various locations and Construction site

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Area of specialization: Residential
Equipment and machinery experience: Reciprocating saws, Circular saws, Concrete saws, Grinding machine, Grouting machine, Jackhammers, Air compressors, Air guns, Nail guns, Drills, Chain saw, Sledgehammer, and Hand tools
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces
• The candidates should be able to work in noisy, dusty, and hot environments
• The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks, handle heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks
• The candidates should have good manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination, and strong attention to detail
• The candidates should have sound discrimination skills

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should have efficient interpersonal skills, be a team player, and be flexible
• The candidates should be hardworking

Candidate Status:

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transport construction materials, as well as mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
• The candidates should be able to erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades, and remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
• The candidates should be able to assist in framing houses, erecting walls, building roofs, and demolishing buildings, as well as perform routine maintenance work
• The candidates should be able to clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, and tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
• The candidates should be able to help the medical examiner in charge
