Salary: $45.50 hourly 168 hours bi-weekly
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time – On the road job
Location: Edmonton, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Public transportation is not available, Travel expenses not paid by employer, Willing to travel, Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Drilling and well service contractor, Various locations, Remote location
Supervision: 5-10 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Gloves, Hard hat
Credentials: Standard First Aid Certificate, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate, Rig Worker Fall Protection
Security and safety: Driver’s validity licence check, Criminal record check, Drug test

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and be physically demanding
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye co-ordination
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
  • The candidates should be able to do manual dexterity
  • The candidates should be able to work in confined spaces, dangerous area, wet/damp area, noisy area, outdoors, hot area, and cold/refrigerated area

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate, flexible, reliable, and judgmental
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to train and supervise floorhands, assistants and helpers
  • The candidates should be able to operate and maintain drilling mud systems and pumps
  • The candidates should be able to write daily basic progress reports
  • The candidates should be able to record mud flows and volumes and take samples
