Job Description:

Salary: $25.00 to $28.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Golden, BC
Shifts: 08:00 to 17:00

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Credentials: Child development supervisor (ECE level 3), Child development worker (ECE level 2), Emergency child care first aid and CPR, and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Immunization records

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching and kneeling

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be dependable and have interpersonal awareness
  • The candidate should be reliable and a team player
  • The candidate should have strong values and ethics

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity, and guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
