Salary: $20.00 to $25.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Rochester, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence, and Drive manual transmission vehicle
Supervision: 11-15 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Apiary and honey harvesting experience: Apiary management, Detect bee diseases, Honey farm, Manage a set of measures designed to protect a beekeeper’s honey bees from the entry and spread of pests, Oversee the honey extraction, Treat bees with antibiotics, Automated honey extractor, and Harvesting honey
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Driver’s validity licence check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
  • The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks, pay attention to detail, and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to work overtime as required

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have excellent written communication, be organized, and be a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to monitor animal health, work with honey bees, and co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • The candidates should be able to maintain livestock performance records, maintain work records and logs, and operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform general farm duties, maintain the bee yard and beekeeping equipment, and interact with bees based on their knowledge of their biology, behaviour, ecology, and caste system
