Job Description:

Salary: $20.00 to $25.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 10 to 50 hours bi-weekly
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time-On the road job

Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Shipyards

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Credentials: Working at heights training and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working in noisy environments, at heights, and outdoors in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be experienced in handling repetitive tasks and heavy loads, possessing manual dexterity and exhibiting attention to detail
  • The candidates should have good hand-eye coordination and be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to manage a large workload and work effectively under pressure, with the ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should exhibit punctuality in their work and be dependable in fulfilling their responsibilities
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and have excellent oral communication abilities
  • The candidates should display flexibility in adapting to various situations and show initiative in taking on tasks
  • The candidates should be reliable in their work and be effective team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to check, weigh, and assist in handling materials and products
  • The candidates should be able to assist machine operators, assemblers, and other workers, performing various laboring and elemental activities
  • The candidates should be able to clean machines and immediate work areas as part of their responsibilities
