Salary: $16.00 to $26.00 hourly for 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates must need standard educational qualifications such as a secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates must have 5 years or more of experience
Work Setting: Industrial, Manufacture
Type of Materials: Aluminum alloys, Non-ferrous materials, Stainless steel, Steel, iron, and heavy metals
Welding Techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
Equipment and Machinery Experience: Arc welding machine, Brazing machine, Gas welding machine, Soldering machine
Area of Specialization: Custom fabrication, Machinery or equipment repair, Cast iron, and other metals
Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance, Criminal record check
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Welding helmet

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidate should be able to handle heavy loads
  • The candidate should be able to do manual dexterity
  • The candidate should be able to do attention to detail
  • The candidate should be able to do hand-eye co-ordination
  • The candidate should be able to stand for extended periods

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to interpret welding process specifications
  • The candidate should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
  • The candidate should be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes
  • The candidate should be able to examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  • The candidate should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • The candidate should be able to fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
  • The candidate should be able to operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
  • The candidate should be able to determine the weldability of materials
  • The candidate should be able to operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • The candidate should be able to operate set-up welding machines previously to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  • The candidate should be able to operate set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal previously or to fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal
  • The candidate should be able to maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
