Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have valid Journeyman Electrician certificate with an Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement
Experience: Candidates should have 4 years of related Journeyperson Water or Wastewater experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be prepared to work in confined spaces and be aware of exposure to noise, electrical equipment, and high voltage
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should possess a an equivalent qualification as recognized by the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board, qualify for Confined Space Entry certification
- The candidate should hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, and no current suspensions or charges pending, experience with industrial maintenance and engine-driven power generation
- The candidate should have completed instrumentation courses and/or hold a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician Certificate or Instrumentation Technologist Certification
- The candidate should demonstrate excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to succeed in this position
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to install, replace, maintain, calibrate, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems and associated equipment
- The candidate should be able to maintain and operate low, medium, and high voltage switchgear safely and efficiently
- The candidate should be able to test circuitry to ensure system integrity and safety compliance, calibrate and maintain water quality analyzers to meet regulatory licensing requirements
- The candidate should be able to read, interpret, and redline electrical schematics and instrumentation loop drawings
- The candidate should be able to position, maintain, and install distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and fuse enclosures
- The candidate should be able to use testing devices to inspect, test, and calibrate system operations, and accurately diagnose faults
