Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as Grade 10 education
Experience: Candidates should have Six months experience in the operation of machinery and power tools
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to work outdoors for extended periods and under all weather conditions as required by work assignments
- The candidates should have the physical ability to perform the assigned duties
- The candidates should demonstrate skill in the operation of small maintenance equipment, hand, and power tools in an efficient, responsible manner and in accordance with recognized procedures
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience working in a Fleet-related environment and possess a Forklift operator certificate; training will be provided upon hire
- The candidates should possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 3A Driver’s Licence and provide a current driver abstract from SGI, demonstrating a safe driving record
- The candidates should have the ability to work with minimal supervision and should be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with the public and civic employees
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform unskilled physical labour, minor maintenance, and repair work within Fleet Services under the supervision of the Supervisor
- The candidates should be able to deliver and pick up a variety of vehicles and parts as directed by the Supervisor
- The candidates should be able to assist in maintaining the shop and work areas in a clean and orderly manner
- The candidates should be able to perform routine maintenance and inspections on shop support equipment such as various hand tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, and parts washer
- The candidates should be able to ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with corporate safety policies, regulations, and procedures
- The candidates should be able to perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
