Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have graduation from an accredited Mineral/Contract Land Program, which would be an asset
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 10 years+ experience as a Mineral Lease and Contract Analyst/administrator with a proven record working in a similar role

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to maintain the data integrity of land records by updating the Land Record System and ensuring Imperial’s (or ExxonMobil Canada) mineral interest and acreage position are accurately represented
  • The candidates should be able to manage all mineral administrative work related to the assigned geographic area, including running lease expiry reports, processing Notice of Assignments, responding to offset and default notices, and drafting leases and lease assignments
  • The candidates should be able to work closely with the Budapest, GBC analysts (Global Business Center) on various tasks and assignments related to payments, vendors, and customers
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with Buenos Aires and Curitiba GBC analysts regarding royalty and revenue accounting queries, providing information to ensure accounting records are updated, and investigating non-payment of invoices, among other queries, as required
  • The candidates should be able to act as the focal point for communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • The candidates should be able to handle contractual administration, including providing assistance and coordination of the timely response of AFE’s, Mail Ballots, Rights of First Refusal (ROFR’s), Waivers and Notices of Consent, Payout/Penalty Wells, and Changes of Operator
  • The candidates should be able to monitor agreements for compliance and contractual obligations and relay information to the appropriate parties
  • The candidates should be able to negotiate resolutions to any contentious or outstanding issues/matters arising out of existing agreements with associates/third parties
  • The candidates should be able to analyze and interpret terms, conditions, and mineral ownership information of existing agreements as requested and provide agreement advice on agreements and/or mineral land issues or problems
  • The candidates should be able to prepare, review, administer, and analyze all types of Mineral land agreements and contracts
  • The candidates should be able to review and handle third-party notices relating to land contracts
  • The candidates should be able to analyze different types of Crown and Freehold mineral lease agreements and titles
  • The candidates should be able to update information in the electronic Land records system and CS Explorer
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate working or advanced-level knowledge of CS Explorer, IHS AccuMap, and the Microsoft Office suite
  • The candidates should be able to draft lease assignments, subleases, and continuation/expiry notices, as required
  • The candidates should be able to manage special projects as required
  • The candidates should be willing to take on various land tasks as required
  • The candidates should be able to provide analyst support to the divestment team for mineral and contract analysis work
