Gaynor Family Regional Library based in Selkirk, MB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Library clerk. Gaynor Family Regional Library is a prominent library which is serving as a vital community resource, plays a significant role in promoting literacy, education, and cultural enrichment within the region. We offer a diverse range of resources and services for individuals of all ages. Our collection includes an extensive selection of books, magazines, newspapers, and audiovisual materials, covering various genres and subjects to cater to the interests and informational needs of the community. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $18.52 hourly 18 to 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time
Location: Selkirk, MB
Shifts
: Day, Evening, Weekend
Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Computer and technology knowledge: Library automated system, Internet, Database, MS Outlook, MS Word
Security and safety: Bondable, Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to issue and receive books and library materials, answer quick reference questions
  • The candidates should be able to assist library users in accessing basic library materials, reshelf books and library materials
  • The candidates should be able to maintain classified collections (shelves shift, shelf-read)
  • The candidates should be able to perform circulation functions
  • The candidates should be able to perform routine clerical duties
