Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Grade 12 education
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a valid 5760 Industrial Construction and Maintenance Mechanic or 5781 Automated Systems Electro-mechanic Certification of Qualification, or have extensive relevant experience
  • The candidates should be able to receive and give instruction over radio in an industrial environment
  • The candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills, experience performing maintenance on conveyor belts
  • The candidates should have knowledge of plumbing and building schematics, knowledge of keyboard and basic computer skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates
  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment including batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and timers
  • The candidates should be able to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace pneumatic equipment such as puck sorters, flow splitters, diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, and coils
  • The candidates should be able to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps
  • The candidates should be able to weld equipment including handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating
  • The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment
