Supervision: 5-10 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Persian
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Area of specialization: Pre-school education
Credentials: Child development supervisor (ECE level 3), Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Medical exam, and Tuberculosis test

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work outdoors and in air-conditioned environments
  • The candidates should be prepared for repetitive tasks and capable of handling physically demanding work
  • The candidates should have attention to detail and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed, and demonstrate manual dexterity

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality and show dependability
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and have excellent oral and written communication
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility and exhibit interpersonal awareness

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assess children’s development to prepare tailored learning plans and assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, and maintain daycare equipment
  • The candidates should be able to engage in storytelling activities, supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, and synthesize children’s situations to communicate with parents
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in program implementation, lead activities like storytelling and local trips, and assist in record-keeping
  • The candidates should be able to encourage children’s creativity through art, play, music, and physical activities, engage children in storytelling and crafts, and assist in developing eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to prepare snacks, arrange rooms for lunch and rest, and observe children for potential learning or behavioral issues, reporting to parents or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to submit written observations, discuss children’s progress and issues at staff meetings, and understand licensing regulations
  • The candidates should be able to establish behavior guidelines, attend staff meetings, and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers
  • The candidates should be able to plan a secure environment for children’s health and well-being, organize activities for school-age children before and after school, and supervise other educators and assistants
