Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Grade 10 education
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience satisfactory to the employer

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate composure, patience, and conflict management, communicate effectively in a professional manner
  • The candidates should have strong communication skills to solve problems, work under stressful conditions
  • The candidates should be able to make quick and sound decisions and read city maps

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have  or an equivalent combination of training and experience,  driving experience in snow and ice
  • The candidates should have previous customer service experience and knowledge of City of Winnipeg streets, landmarks, and bus routes

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate transit buses in a safe manner, provide courteous, professional transit service to the citizens of Winnipeg, in keeping with Transit and City policy, and be responsible for the on-board safety of passengers
  • The candidates should be able to inform passengers of the fare when applicable and monitor fare payment
  • The candidates should be able to report and correspond with supervisory personnel, as required, as per Transit policy, participate in professional training and development
