Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and are currently registered with the Provincial Association of Registered Nurses
Experience: Candidates should have experience working with the elderly in a seniors’ living or long-term care environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to work a schedule of flexible hours
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be passionate about working with seniors and have comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The candidates should have proficiency in other languages considered an asset
- The candidates should be able to provide a CPR & Emergency First Aid Certificate, Clear Criminal Record Check, and Vulnerable Sector Screening upon hire
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess, plan, evaluate, document, and direct residents’ needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences, and team members
- The candidates should be able to provide leadership to health services staff and oversee the provision of quality health services, respecting the client’s right to individualized planning of health services
- The candidates should be able to work with the existing management and health services teams to promote communication and compliance with policies and procedures
- The candidates should be able to assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans
- The candidates should be able to administer and record prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice
- The candidates should be able to apply dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy
- The candidates should be able to assist with the supervision and evaluation of job performance of care staff
