Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of graduated from a recognized school of nursing program
Experience: Candidates should have current operating room experience, specifically two years within the last four years
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to constantly move and lift up to 10 lbs., regularly move and lift up to 25 lbs., and occasionally restrain, reposition, move, or lift up to 30 lbs. They should be able to push or pull with medium force
- The candidates should be able to constantly stand, walk, and work in awkward or cramped positions to assist with procedures
- The candidates should be able to constantly use fine finger precision, auditory, sensory, and visual concentration to provide and conduct risk assessments, observe and monitor patients, complete documents, follow directions, and administer medications
- The candidates should be able to handle time pressures and deadlines, even when they may have limited control over their work pace
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should hold current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL)
- The candidates should have a satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide perioperative nursing care to cardiac patients undergoing complex cardiovascular surgeries while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment in the Cardiac Operating Room
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate the delivery of care to operating room patients
- The candidates should be able to work effectively within both the circulator and scrub nurse roles
