Job Description:

Position: Early childhood educator (ECE) assistant
No of Vacancies: 3
Salary: $20.00 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: North Vancouver, BC
Target audience: Children and Infant (3 months – 11 months)

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset 
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1)
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Immunization records

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, have attention to detail, and bend, crouch, and kneel

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality, be dependable, have excellent written communication skills, be reliable, and be a team player

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children and assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, preparing crafts, and preparing snacks and arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
