Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation after having passed the CFE
Experience: Candidates should have extensive recent experience applying accounting principles and Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) in conducting financial statement audits

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should undergo a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • The candidates should have the ability to work overtime
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to effectively plan, organize, and follow up when managing assigned work

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • The candidates should possess superior analytical skills to identify and analyze problems and form logical conclusions
  • The candidates should have strong written communication skills to effectively communicate audit findings to a variety of stakeholders
  • The candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills to work well both within a team setting and with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • The candidates should have strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to actively listen and present messages concisely
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to be proactive, take initiative, and perform tasks independently while working under minimal supervision

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report directly to the financial statement managers and/or principals and indirectly to the Deputy Auditor General
  • The candidates should be able to work as a member of the financial statement service area to carry out financial statement audits in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standards
  • The candidates should be able to supervise junior staff, oversee audit budgets, and actively participate in audit activities, including planning, gathering evidence, and reporting of findings
