Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have 2 years of previous supervisory experience in logistics or an operational environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be available to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in all weather conditions
- The candidates should have the ability to drill down, understand root causes, and resolve complex issues
- The candidates should have excellent focus, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have general equivalency diploma, a valid driver’s license and be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- The candidates should be able to read and understand safety instructions, operating rules, regulations, and other written or printed material in English
- The candidates should be able to pass a criminal history check, undergo driver license verification and provide reference checks
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to lead a unionized team in maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs on locomotives, mobile equipment, and vehicles used in plant, yard, and road service
- The candidates should be able to ensure that repairs and train servicing are in compliance with Association of American Railroad, Transport Canada standards, and CPKC policies
- The candidates should be able to work with internal and external partners to improve fluidity and achieve the Local Service Operating Plan and Operating Plan
- The candidates should be able to provide leadership accountability for inputs and outputs related to safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics
- The candidates should be able to lead safety compliance within the terminal, providing corrective actions as needed, engaging in safety discussions, and promoting a culture of safety
- The candidates should be able to conduct briefings to ensure that all documentation is accurate, complete, and communicated to the next Supervisor on shift
- The candidates should be able to mentor and coach the team through active observation, providing feedback for continuous improvement
