Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience conducting screening assessment for services, including enrolment, other programs and emergency interventions

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and should have satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
  • The candidates should have experience providing administrative support for management, scheduling and meeting coordination, tracking events and using bring forward files, receiving, screening and directing inquiries
  • The candidates should have experience working with the general public, providing service to diverse clients and should possess excellent verbal communication skills
  • The candidates should have the ability to work with a high level of accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
  • The candidates should have the ability to work with highly confidential material and should possess effective organizational and time management skills, including the ability to establish priorities to meet deadlines
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently with general supervision and should possess excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and with external collaterals
  • The candidates should have effective written communication skills, with experience drafting and editing correspondence or other communications
  • The candidates should have experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) with the ability to professionally format documents, create and maintain excel spreadsheets for tracking

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to administer income benefits and shelter assistance programs and health supports throughout the province
  • The candidates should be able to provide assessment and processing of subsidies for units including Child Care Subsidy, Income Supplement Program, Disability and Health Supports Unit, and Health Services
  • The candidates should be able to report to the Supervisor, Support Services, and be part of a multi-position team that provides reception and information services for the public as well as clerical support to supervisors and staff of the Branch
  • The candidates should be able to greet and triage the public, handle phone inquiries, sort and distribute incoming/outgoing mail, manage and respond to inquiries to a public inbox, perform filing, data entry, and other clerical support as required
