Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a degree or diploma, Environmental Studies and Outdoor Education
Experience: Candidates should have at least 2 years of related programming and planning experience
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have at least 1 year of supervisory experience, a working knowledge of related legislation in the applicable area of discipline
- The candidates should be proficient in MS Office, customer service skills and experience, strong written and oral communication skills
- The candidates should have a valid Ontario non-probationary Class G Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle
- The candidates should have Standard First Aid and CPR certification, be aware that mandatory requirements are dependent upon the primary focus of the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assist in the administration of the Sewer, Water and Lot Grading By-laws
- The candidates should be able to review building permit applications for lot grading and sewer and water connections for residential development
- The candidates should be able to assist in survey works for construction, drainage, quantitative analysis, landfill operations, locating structures, lot grading, and miscellaneous surveys using conventional and electronic survey equipment
- The candidates should be able to assist with field inspections as required on matters such as lot grading, drainage, and by-law enforcement
- The candidates should be able to provide information relating to sewer and water services and infrastructure in person, by telephone, and by e-mail to property owners, contractors, and consultants
- The candidates should be able to update and maintain records related to sewer, water, and lot grading services
- The candidates should be able to assist in the provision of underground locates by scheduling appointments for utility contractors and customers
- The candidates should be able to perform other duties consistent with the position in support of the Branch mandate
