Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Certificate
Experience: Candidates should have one year experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public
  • The candidates should have the ability to analyze problems, develop, and recommend solutions and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • The candidates should have the ability to organize work and set priorities in order to meet deadlines
  • The candidates should have the ability to deal professionally with the public with a high customer orientation

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have and an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
  • The candidates should have  of related work experience, including working with legal survey plans Plans of Subdivision, land development processes, interpreting and plotting basic title descriptions, and writing basic legal descriptions
  • The candidates should have experience reading and interpreting construction drawings engineering, architectural, building, blueprint and survey and strong verbal communication skills
  • The candidates should have experience determining and assigning addresses in a municipal environment
  • The candidates should have the ability to accurately plot subdivision plan details from legal survey plans of different scales, survey certificates, or legal descriptions
  • The candidates should have the ability to accurately plot a building outline from building plans or survey certificates and experience writing and understanding SQL queries
  • The candidates should have the ability to read and interpret maps, technical drawings, and specifications, as required and pertinent to the duties of the position
  • The candidates should have strong written communication skills, including the ability to create professional written communication with customers and proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel software
  • The candidates should have knowledge of the operations of the Winnipeg Land Titles Office, particularly in plan examination and registration processes

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to determine, assign, and maintain property addresses for buildings, additions, or demolitions on existing properties in connection with the permit issuance process
  • The candidates should be able to determine and assign addresses and create property records as part of the land development process
  • The candidates should be able to investigate and respond to addressing inquiries, complaints, and problems
  • The candidates should be able to process requests for change of address and additional addresses on buildings
  • The candidates should be able to support the branch with basic mapping and property management systems-related work
