Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Undergraduate degree in a Computer Science, Statistics, or Engineering
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should sit with arms unsupported while keyboarding and focus on a variety of source data and computer for long periods
- The candidates should handle long periods of intense concentration while working with large volumes of data
- The candidates should meet multiple deadlines with conflicting priorities and work in an office environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have proficiency in the use of business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau and demonstrate the ability to create compelling visualizations
- The candidates should have an in-depth understanding of data management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) frameworks
- The candidates should have proficiency in SQL and other programming languages commonly used for data analysis, such as Python
- The candidates should have a strong analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving and attention to detail
- The candidates should have a proven ability to take initiative, be innovative, and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- The candidates should have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- The candidates should have experience with MS SQL Server and Azure SQL database operations and optimization
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide subject matter expertise and guidance in the development and maintenance of a corporate data framework and center of excellence
- The candidates should be able to provide advice, assistance, and guidance to City staff on data management best practices
- The candidates should be able to design, develop, and maintain data models to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability for reporting and analysis purposes
- The candidates should be able to design procedures and structures to effectively extract, transform, load, and clean data from diverse sources, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility that meets established standards
- The candidates should be able to adhere to data governance policies and security protocols, maintaining data privacy and compliance with established requirements
- The candidates should be able to liaise with various City departments to translate their data requirements into actionable solutions that align with strategic goals
- The candidates should be able to analyze extensive datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing valuable insights for decision-makers
- The candidates should be able to generate and customize intuitive reports, dashboards, and visualizations tailored to specific business needs and objectives using business intelligence tools such as Power BI to facilitate data-driven decision-making
- The candidates should be able to train and support business champions ensuring best practices are used and corporate standards are adhered to
- The candidates should be able to conduct ad hoc analyses as needed to provide timely insights and support strategic initiatives
