Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a Canadian professional accounting designation (CGA, CMA, CA or CPA)
Experience: Candidates should have three (3) years of working experience in Financial Management, and one (1) year of Supervisory experience
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), generally accepted auditing standards, public sector handbook accounting standards, financial analysis, and fiscal planning
- The candidates should have knowledge of financial activities in a corporate environment and have knowledge of the Territorial Lands Act and Regulations
- The candidates should demonstrate interpersonal skills and the ability to solve complex problems and provide conflict resolution
- The candidates should possess knowledge of Human Resource management and administrative practices
- The candidates should possess knowledge and experience in mainframe accounting systems
- The candidates should demonstrate organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to report directly to the District Director
- The candidates should be able to have fiduciary responsibility for the Financial, Human Resource, and Administrative Affairs of the District
- The candidates should be able to manage financial systems and safeguard corporate assets
- The candidates should be able to prepare, issue, and distribute financial reports
- The candidates should be able to maintain internal financial controls and ensure effective financial management processes and practices in the District Office and LHOs
- The candidates should be able to provide training, development, and support to Corporate and Local Housing Organization staff
