Salary: $16.00 to $22.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 hours per week

Supervision: 5-10 people
Work setting: Child care centre and Urban area
Target audience: Toddler to pre-school (1 – 3 years), Kindergarten age (4 – 5 years)
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Credentials:Â Child development worker (ECE level 2), emergency child care first aid and CPR, early childhood education (ECE) certificate, first aid certificate, and CPR certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Child abuse registry check, Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working in noisy environments, in a non-smoking and air-conditioned setting, performing repetitive and physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should be comfortable working in paying attention to detail, and engaging in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as bending, crouching, and kneeling activities
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should exhibit punctuality and dependability, along with efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, sound judgment, reliability, and strong values and ethics
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to multitask and work effectively as team players.
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be skilled in storytelling
- The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
- The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
- The candidates should be able to provide opportunities for children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
- The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
- The candidates should have knowledge of licensing regulations
- The candidates should be able to establish guidelines for behavior
- The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate the activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
