Imaginarium Daycare based in Victoria, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Early childhood educator (ECE). Imaginarium Daycare s a premier childcare center dedicated to fostering early childhood development in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Offering programs for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, they focus on a holistic approach to education that includes creative play, social interaction, and early learning activities. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $21.00 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, and discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings
