Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Education
Experience: Candidates should have experience in implementing inquiry-based instructional pedagogy

- The candidates should have strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, history, and traditions and be eligible for a Northwest Territories teaching certificate
- The candidates should have experience in curriculum implementation, with a focus on competency-based education
- The candidates should have experience in competency-based assessment and evaluation and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- The candidates should have an understanding of the Northwest Territories’ Inclusive Schooling practices
- The candidates should have knowledge of land-based education principles and practices and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with educators, Elders, and community members to design and implement a competency-based curriculum rooted in Indigenous knowledge and values
- The candidates should be able to foster a learning environment that respects and incorporates diverse Indigenous perspectives, ensuring the curriculum reflects the local Indigenous culture
- The candidates should be able to implement strategies to promote equity and inclusion within the school community, addressing disparities and fostering a sense of belonging for all students
- The candidates should be able to liaise between the school and the community, seeking input, collaboration, and feedback to continuously improve educational programs
- The candidates should be able to develop and integrate land-based learning opportunities into the curriculum, fostering a deep connection to the land and traditional practices
