Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed an accredited practical nurse education program
Experience: Candidates should have 1 to 2 years of acute care experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the physical capability to perform all aspects of the role, including the ability to lift up to and including 50 lbs
- The candidates should have demonstrated ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with patients, families, and team members
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and a practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- The candidates should have current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- The candidates should have basic computer skills and strong leadership and critical thinking skills, demonstrated by the ability to direct other healthcare workers, problem-solve, and escalate clinical concerns in a timely and appropriate manner
- The candidates should possess strong communication and organizational skills and must be committed to patient and family-centered care
- The candidates should successfully complete Neuroscience Orientation Classes and achieve a minimum pass rate of 80% on the Neurosciences Exam to enter the Program
- The candidates should be responsible for providing proof of active registration with the CLPNA and maintaining registration throughout the duration of employment
- The candidates should have 1 to 2 years of Neuroscience experience and Connect Care-related experience
