Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of Bachelor of Education degree
Experience: Candidates should have experience in project management and leading project teams
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be legally entitled to work in Canada
- The candidates should maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- The candidates should be willing to travel within the province
- The candidates should have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should undergo a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry check
- The candidates should be a certified teacher with teaching experience in Kindergarten – Grade 12 within Provincial or First Nations schools
- The candidates should have successful experience working with First Nation, Inuit, and Metis students, communities and organizations
- The candidates should have experience implementing treaty education at a school or divisional level, leading, directing a team, establishing shared learning and training expectations
- The candidates should have knowledge of budgeting and financial accountability practices and contract administration
- The candidates should have a working relationship with departmental, governmental, and external partners such as school divisions, Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba, Indigenous Rights Holders and organizations and the education sector
- The candidates should possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- The candidates should be able to prepare and administer contracts, monitor the work of contractors, and communicate effectively with the educational community
- The candidates should have strong verbal communication skills and written communication skills
- The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders and build strong partnerships to promote Treaty Education initiatives
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide leadership, coordination, and support to school divisions in implementing Treaty Education
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with school divisions, Catalyst teachers, school leaders and Indigenous education leads
- The candidates should be able to integrate Treaty Education and the original Spirit and Intent of the Treaties into curriculum, school plans, and School Division Plans
- The candidates should be able to utilize the Framework for Continuous Improvement to facilitate the integration of Treaty Education
- The candidates should be able to provide guidance and resources to support the effective implementation of Treaty Education across school divisions
- The candidates should be able to monitor and evaluate the progress of Treaty Education initiatives and make adjustments as needed to ensure successful outcomes
