Salary: $18.00 to $41.00 hourly (To be negotiated) 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Weekend, Overtime, Flexible Hours
Work setting: Manufacture, Industrial
Type of materials: Aluminum alloys, non-ferrous materials, stainless steel, and steel, iron, and heavy metals

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Welding techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux core arc welding (FCAW)
Area of specialization: Custom fabrication, structural construction, and fencing, balconies, stairs, and railings
Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine, Cutting torches
Credentials: Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors
• The candidates should be comfortable working at heights
• The candidates should be able to work in confined spaces
• The candidates should be able to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should have efficient interpersonal skills and be organized
• The candidates should be flexible and team players

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
• If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications, operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, and read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
• The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, be familiar with computer-aided design (CAD), and operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
• The candidates should be able to fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal, operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air) (AOC), determine the weldability of materials, operate hoisting and lifting equipment, operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products, and operate plasma cutters
