Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of completed Grade 12
Experience: Candidates should have experience in a warehouse setting

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have good time management skills to organize time and deliver services within time schedules for maximum efficiency

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have knowledge of the GNWT Financial Administration Act, WHMIS Regulations, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and medical terminology
  • The candidates should possess a valid Class 4 NWT driver’s license and must be bondable
  • The candidates should have certification in WHMIS, ITA Dangerous Goods, First Aid, and CPR, which are mandatory
  • The candidates should have computer experience in database programs and knowledge of spreadsheets
  • The candidates should demonstrate solid customer service skills when dealing with stakeholders and staff of BDHSSA
  • The candidates should have experience and hands-on training to assist ambulatory clients requiring walking aids or confined to wheelchairs to embark and disembark from the Handi Van
  • The candidates should be able to use radio communication, pagers, and mobile telephone equipment
  • The candidates should have experience using computers and Excel and a Class 4 Driver’s License and certification in WHMIS, First Aid, and CPR. An ITA Dangerous Goods certificate

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to oversee vehicle fleet maintenance and the care and services of the Handi Van, including vehicle booking, usage, and maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to ensure clients receive appropriate and safe transportation to and from designated points within the Town of Inuvik
  • The candidates should be able to provide inventory management of controllable assets to eight surrounding communities, including Inuvik
  • The candidates should be able to assist with the orientation of casual staff within the Division
  • The candidates should be able to report to the Transportation Supervisor and operate based in Inuvik
