Shift: 5 to 6 days per week, On-site
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience with 50/50, silent auction, and ticket sales at large-scale events
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to supervise and motivate others and reliable, enthusiastic, friendly, and self-motivated and at least 18 years of age and lift boxes or items up to 25 lbs
- The candidates should be available to work five to six days per week during the CNE and available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for the duration of the 2024 CNE (August 16 to September 2)
- The candidates should be available to attend a full-day mandatory training session on Tuesday, August 6, at the CNE grounds
- The candidates should be able to work outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold and rain)
- The candidates should be required to dress in an appropriate uniform and ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have excellent verbal communication and customer service skills and hold a valid Ontario G license to operate on-site golf carts
- The candidates should have previous cash handling and payment card transaction processing experience and possess strong organizational skills
- The candidates should be proficient with computers and desktop applications, including Microsoft Office, and mobile devices, with troubleshooting ability
- The candidates should have strong time management and organizational skills, be accountable and possess leadership and supervisory skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to supervise the day-to-day activities of the CNE Foundation’s Grand CNE 50/50 and Silent Auction fundraisers and assist the Executive Director and Managers with the move-in and move-out of fundraisers prior to and following the 2024 CNE liaise with the operations department and trades during set-up Labour, electrician
- The candidates should be able to ensure that sales, cash handling, and other procedures are being followed, and that AGCO charity lottery requirements are being met and motivate staff in order to maximize raffle and silent auction proceeds in support of the Foundation’s charitable programs
- The candidates should be able to ensure that the Sales Ambassadors are proactively interacting with CNE visitors and communicating CNE Foundation messaging and individual sales on a daily basis to ensure targets are being met and provide coaching
- The candidates should be able to manage the 50/50 and silent auction mobile devices, including the daily assignment and return of devices, and assist with troubleshooting
- The candidates should be able to oversee daily Sales Ambassador beginning, end-of-shift, and closing cash handling and payment card tasks in order to maintain internal controls and provide accurate sales records
- The candidates should be able to assist the Manager with shift sign in or out and staff hours tracking, reporting, and daily responsibilities
- The candidates should be able to support Sales Ambassadors with daily opening and closing duties at selling locations and monitor throughout the day to ensure locations remain neat and presentable
- The candidates should be able to assist with the delivery, display, and replenishment of silent auction items and provide support with customer inquiries or issue resolution
