Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Province of Ontario Truck and Coach Technician Certificate (310-T)
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a valid license and a Red Seal license as a Truck and Transport Mechanic
- The candidates should have a valid, non-probationary Province of Ontario Class “G” driver’s license, tools and a toolbox as per the tool list established by the TTC
- The candidates should successfully complete all mandatory training and testing required for this position, including but not limited to upgrading to a “CZ” driver’s license, direct current fundamentals, automotive circuits, air conditioning and ODP certification, multiplex wiring, electronic transmission and engine controls, and passenger accessibility equipment. Failure to complete the required training and testing will result in removal from the position
- The candidates should have rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and related orders, including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements for passengers and employees
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to work on a designated job assignment Inspections, Dynometer Operator and Engines
- The candidates should be able to perform varied and complex work on a variety of diesel, gasoline, and hybrid-powered passenger vehicles, service vehicles, and related equipment
- The candidates should be able to conduct tests, diagnose issues, perform repairs, overhauls, parts replacements, and adjustments on all vehicle systems, including powertrain, fuel systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, door systems, air conditioning systems, and auxiliary operating equipment
- The candidates should be able to conduct vehicle inspections and respond to road service calls
- The candidates should be able to treat passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity, ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and addressed within their area of responsibility
- The candidates should be able to adhere to the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders to ensure passengers and employees fully benefit from the TTC as a service provider and employer
