Canadian National Exhibition (CNE)’s Marketing and Communications Team is one of largest annual fairs. It offers entertainment, food, and cultural attractions. Marketing and Communications Team promotes the event through advertising, public relations, and social media. It use digital marketing and media partnerships to attract over a million visitors annually. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Shift: 18-day fair, Weekends, Labour Day holiday, early morning and late-night shifts

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 1 to 2 years’ experience working in the field of PR, media relations, and journalism

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be available to work weekend shifts from August 16 to September 2 during the run of the Fair
  • The candidates should be able to work flexible hours and rotating shifts for the duration of the 18-day fair, including weekends, the Labour Day holiday, and early morning and late-night shifts for live-remotes

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work on-site at the CNE Administrative Building at Exhibition Place full-time Mondays to Fridays
  • The candidates should possess a G license and be willing to learn and operate a golf cart

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to showcase the CNE’s rich history, highlighting its evolution and enduring traditions
  • The candidates should be able to feature cutting-edge technologies and unique exhibits at the CNE, focusing on innovation in entertainment and agriculture
  • The candidates should be able to highlight the CNE’s economic impact on local businesses and its support for community initiatives
  • The candidates should be able to promote celebrity appearances, live performances, and unique entertainment offerings
  • The candidates should be able to feature diverse and exotic foods available at the CNE, including culinary trends and food competitions
  • The candidates should be able to emphasize family-friendly activities, kid zones, and educational exhibits suitable for all ages and identify and pitch to targeted media outlets to secure interviews and coverage
  • The candidates should be able to spotlight the CNE’s sustainability efforts, eco-friendly practices, and initiatives to reduce environmental impact
  • The candidates should be able to maintain updated media lists for targeted outreach and coordinate live remotes, photo shoots, and interviews to maximize exposure
  • The candidates should be able to draft compelling press releases, media advisories, and press kit contents and monitor media coverage daily and compile comprehensive reports to measure impact and adjust strategies
