Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry
Experience: Candidates should have 2-3 years of experience in microbiology, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biochemical engineering or related discipline

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a strong background in protein production
  • The candidates should demonstrate an understanding of enzyme kinetics
  • The candidates should have strong knowledge of protein chemistry, enzyme screening, analytical chemistry, and microscopy is required
  • The candidates should have experience in protein production in Pichia pastoris
  • The candidates should have experience with establishing new enzyme applications is expected from the candidates

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to conceive hypotheses, design experimental plans, conduct experiments, and analyze and interpret data
  • The candidates should be able to review scientific literature, execute research projects, and report on their progress through oral and written reports and scientific journal articles
  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • The candidates should be able to present research at local, national, and international meetings
  • The candidates should be able to interface with industry partners and vendors effectively
  • The candidates should be able to maintain strain and plasmid databases as appropriate
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate research projects and meetings as appropriate
  • The candidates should be responsible for developing written protocols and training researchers on the latest protein techniques, including protein production, characterization, and application development
  • The candidates should be responsible for developing new techniques and methods and training other researchers in these techniques
  • The candidates should assist the PI in preparing manuscripts and proposals
  • The candidates should perform other additional duties to enable the safe and efficient operation of the lab
